Ivan Demidov Just Dropped a Big Hint About the Identity of his Next Linemate in Montreal

The Montreal Canadiens’ 2025 training camp is approaching quickly, and clearly, we will have several interesting storylines to follow.
And we will also need to follow what happens on the team’s second line.
Who will be the team’s much-talked-about second center?
A hint on young Ivan Demidov’s linemate
All signs point to that being the case.
Laine and Demidov have been training together constantly since the end of last season, making special plays with each other, and they are clearly developing some great chemistry.
During the three-on-three drills and in the small improvised games in Brossard this summer, they are always together on the same line, and they dominate.
The 3-on-3 drill in tight space produced some beautiful plays, like in this sequence highlighting Patrik Laine and Ivan Demidov.
It seems obvious that those two will start next season on the same line.
Demidov also had some very kind words for Laine recently!
The next question, then, is who will be the team’s second center.
If it could work with Zachary Bolduc or Kirby Dach, that would really be ideal, but if not, Kent Hughes will clearly have to turn to the NHL trade market.
