When you walk into Impressive Eyewear, owner Gisele Klein wants you to feel like you’ve discovered something fun, funky and truly unique.
“We’re not your typical eyewear store,” she says. “My mission has always been to show people that you don’t need to go downtown to find funky, unique and high-quality eyewear. It’s right here in your local neighbourhood.”
Klein has worked in the eyewear industry since 1982 and opened Impressive Eyewear in 2010. When she started her business, she set out to create her own vision: a place where people could find distinctive brands that aren’t found everywhere else.
“I wanted to offer brands that are unique, hand-crafted – many are European brands that we love and trust,” Klein notes.
The store is filled with bold colours, distinctive shapes and carefully curated collections. In fact, customers often compare the experience to walking into a candy store because there is so much variety to explore!
But for Klein and the team, frames are just a small part of what they do. Equally important is their service.
“We spend time with our customers to truly understand and meet their needs. We want everyone to feel comfortable, ask questions and try different options until we find the right fit for them.”
That personalized approach includes looking at lifestyle, face shape, skin colour, fit and budget.
To help you compare choices, the store uses a specialized imaging system that can display four images at once.
The mirror-style setup lets you see yourself in multiple frames side by side, making it easy to evaluate shape, colour and overall look before making a decision.
“Our camera system truly enhances the selection experience because you can actually see the difference between frames in real time,” Klein explains.
