One of the co-founders of French games giant, Ubisoft, Claude Guillemot, has been killed in a plane crash.
The news was first reported by local outlet Ouest France – spotted by Bloomberg – which said that the businessman was one of two passengers in a twin-engine Cessna 421 who died in the accident, which occurred on Friday, June 19 in La Baule, Brittany.
Guillemot was 69 years of age.
“Ubisoft was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Claude Guillemot, co-founder of the group and chairman of Guillemot Corp., in an accident,” a Ubisoft spokesperson said.
“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. No further statements will be made at this time.”
In addition to co-founding Ubisoft, Guillemot was the chairman of Guillemot Corp, the company behind accessories company Thrustmaster.
