Summer in Quebec is full of magical escapes, but few are as dreamy as this hidden gem just under an hour from Montreal.
Forty-five minutes from the city, you can visit a flower farm with a field of sunflowers as far as the eye can see, where rustic cottages, whimsical details, and photo-worthy views make it feel like you’ve stepped right into a fairy tale.
Located in the Monterégie region, La Belle de Coteau-du-Lac is a family farm offering fruit and flower experiences and tons to see and explore.
The farm is perhaps most known for specializing in strawberries, which it offers as a U-Pick experience throughout the summer.
It’s also a popular spot for its Sunflowers in Bloom experience, which allows visitors to immerse themselves in a sea of sunflowers throughout August.
During the event, visitors can walk through sunflower fields filled with more than 250,000 blooms. The farm redesigns its fields so that each year is a new experience, with breathtaking landscapes, unique sights and plenty of pretty photo ops.
New for this year, guests can explore a windmill in the sunflowers with an elevated balcony to see the field from above, as well as a river-like pond inspired by the San Antonio River Walk in San Antonio, Texas.
The farm tells MTL Blog that these areas will also be illuminated, making for an enchanting setting when the sun goes down.
Besides marvelling at the farm’s sunflower field, visitors will be able to explore the farm’s FestiFleurs route.
Usually only open until early August, the FestiFleurs route is brimming with more than 200 varieties of flowers, and also allows visitors to enjoy a pretty heart arch and flowery staircase lined with blooms.
You can also create your own perfect bouquet. In the pick-your-own area of the farm, you can choose from more than 60 varieties of sunflowers and a multitude of other flowers, all ready to be picked, or fill up a basket with some delicious strawberries.
The farm also offers a playground and corn maze, making it a great spot for kids and families.
If you get hungry during your visit, the farm’s restaurant will be open during the event, serving up grilled meals with fresh farm ingredients, as well as smoothies, slushies, donuts, popcorn, soft drinks and more.
The Sunflowers in Bloom event is on now until September 1, 2025. Tickets for entry to the event start at $22 per person, which gets you access to the flower field, playground, picnic area and corn maze.
To pick your own flowers, tickets start at $32 per adult, which includes admission and a mason jar for picking flowers. Baskets for picking strawberries can be purchased online or on-site.
