This summer, it’s all about enjoying patios that keep the vibe going, from tried and true favourites with predictable late-night snack menus and happy hour deals, to swanky new spots to sip frozen cocktails and sink into cosy rooftop booths while watching the sunset. Here are 18 patios to pull up a chair while soaking up the sun in Toronto this summer.

This British-inspired gastropub, complete with a charming street patio on John Street, also features an oyster house on its second floor. Located in the heart of the city, near many offices, it is also a beloved spot to hit before home games. Happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Steps away from the CN Tower, Bar Cana (The Roof at SOCO) is a seasonal patio oasis located on the fourth floor of the Delta Toronto. This year, there are a number of events taking place over the summer, including 90s and 2000s throwback DJ parties and salsa dancing. This year’s summer menu promises bold flavours, and there is a Corona bucket special (6-Bottles for $64), all in a relaxed setting with epic sunset views over downtown Toronto.

A favourite spot to grab a drink after a volleyball match on the beach, Sunnyside Pavillion is a waterfront restaurant that’s just steps from the sandy boardwalk framing Lake Ontario. Along with a standard wine, beer and cocktail menu, this spot is known for its frozen cocktails.

A good spot for cold pints, all day breakfast and perfect pizzas, Cherry’s High Dive is a popular neighbourhood spot with a retro ambience. There’s a small, cosy corner patio with seating for a handful of people that’s heated and outfitted with hanging plants, string lights and umbrellas for sunnier days, which stays open nightly until 2 a.m.

On top of 1 Hotel Toronto, Harrie’s Rooftop offers a cosy, relaxing vibe, with fantastic views of the cityscape, with gorgeous sunsets to match. Cocktails, lounge and bottle service are available until close (11 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, midnight on Thursdays and 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays). There’s also a happy hour from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Alongside its drink program, Harriet’s is known for its seasonal seafood-focused snacks that are perfectly shareable, from sushi rolls to fresh oysters.

One of Trinity-Bellwoods’ most loved wine bars, Paris Paris heats up in the summer time with its open-air, streetside patio. You can enjoy their all day food menu, or stop by for lunch, brunch, or dinner and choose from seasonal eats with a French slant, like beef tartare, croque madame, or a selection of cheese and charcuterie. Paris Paris is open late until 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday.

Gurman Singh
One of Toronto’s newest upscale waterfront restaurants, Queens Harbour offers a Mediterranean menu with Asian flair, alongside enviable CN Tower views and a robust cocktail menu. A stunning heated and open air patio, called the Queen’s Garden, goes above and beyond with a full service bar furnished in luxury teal velvet bar stools or lounge seating tucked among giant Mediterranean trees, like the one that anchors the main bar. Here, you can enjoy a full food menu where you can pair bites like sushi tacos or Wagyu sliders with fused cocktails, beer (like the Corona 20 oz draught for $12) or wine. Queens Harbour is also known for its impressive sake collection and dessert wines.

Right in the heart of the Financial District, Earl’s has long been a favourite summer watering hole. Opened in 2016, the stunning, two-storey rooftop patio features a retractable roof so you can enjoy al fresco dining, rain or shine. On weekends and holidays, you can enjoy brunch happy hour drinks and discounted food items until noon. There are also a handful of daily specials — on Tuesdays, enjoy half off all bottles of wine and on Saturdays, enjoy half off all bottles of sparkling wine until 2 p.m.

Looking for a cosy spot to tuck into a glass of wine? The Old York Tavern is a quaint neighbourhood wine bar that also serves lunch, dinner, and brunch. The menu focuses on seasonal shareables with a French twist, like the Lyonnaise salad, bone marrow tartare, and the Parisienne gnocchi with sunchokes. The side patio, facing Wellington St., offers space for roughly 20 persons, and features ambient string lights and umbrellas for shade.

Jam-packed as soon as the warm weather hits, The Porch is the city’s biggest rooftop patio with enviable views of the CN Tower and the downtown core. On weeknights, they stay open until midnight, with hours extended to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. A known spot for group hangs, the drink menu offers plenty of shareables, like the signature margarita buckets. There are also daily deals, and hourly discounts ranging from 50 to 10 per cent off during happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, and live DJs on Fridays.

King Taps has two locations along King St. W. both offering sun-soaked patios.
King Taps
One of two locations, right inside First Canadian Place in the Financial District, King Taps at 100 King St. W. is a relaxed yet elevated sports bar offering more than 50 beers on tap and classic cocktails, alongside frozen margaritas and party-sized sangria. They have two daily happy hours that run from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 9 p.m. until close, with discounted cocktails, wine, beer, and shots, as well as shareables like pizza and truffle fries. Their spacious, open-air, corner patio is heated and decked out in umbrellas and twinkling string lights, and is open late until midnight Sunday to Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
Their second location also has a sun-soaked patio right along King St. W. between Portland and Bathurst.

With a reputation for sliders and cheap drinks, Pennies is a dive bar located in Trinity-Bellwoods. Their cheery patio is dog-friendly, and features cosy picnic bench-style seating that’s great for groups. For summer, Pennies has launched a new happy hour that runs Monday to Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. where you’ll find goodies like any slider on the menu for just $5. Pennies is open 2 p.m. to late Monday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to late Friday to Sunday.

Way up on the 44th floor of the Bisha Hotel, KOST offers a Baja California-inspired escape, complete with live palms and boho decor. Returning for summer, KOST’s Late Night Series is back, bringing live DJ performances and good vibes as soon as the sun sets. Open for lunch, brunch, and dinner, KOST also offers a late-night menu and bottle service and is open until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

A neighbourhood pub in the Beaches, The Stone Lion offers craft beer, refreshing cocktails and comfort foods like loaded nachos and chicken quesadillas. This spot is home to not one, but two beautiful patios, one of which is heated, with a retractable roof and a handful of outdoor TVs, making this a great spot to catch an upcoming World Cup match. Happy hour runs from 3 to 5 p.m. on weekdays, but there are daily specials, too, like half-priced wine on Wednesdays, or half-priced wings on Mondays.

Boasting a new 100-foot poolside bar and massive VIP mezzanine and offering 50,000 square feet of outdoor patio space, it packs 12 private cabanas and 42 oversized deluxe chaise lounges, with space for 2,500 people daily. Events are a huge part of Cabana, and DJs like Major Lazer and Meduza are already booked. The 2026 Summer Pass is now available for $299, which gets you admission every Saturday and Sunday all summer long.

A Distillery District staple, El Catrin is best known for its authentic Mexican tapas, and for being home to the largest collection of mezcal and tequila in Canada, boasting more than 120 labels. One of the best ways to sample a few varieties is through their tequila or margarita flights. Their heated patio offers plenty of room, with long wooden tables tucked among leafy palms and hundreds of twinkling string lights.

Right on the grounds of Exhibition Place on the shores of Lake Ontario, Acqua Supper Club is an upscale spot that focuses on seasonal dishes inspired by Italian fare, while offering vibrant nightly entertainment. On the sprawling patio, which officially opened May 22, DJs set the vibe nightly, and guests can socialize until 2 a.m. Thursday through Sunday, or until midnight Monday to Wednesday.
