Shane Lowry has called upon his former caddie Dermot Byrne to step in and accompany him at this week’s Travelers Championship after parting ways with Darren Reynolds.
Lowry, 39, separated from Reynolds after he missed the cut at the US Open last week at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
He reached out to Byrne, who held that role for the first 10 years of the Irishman’s career, as he said he needed a caddie on short notice.
“We’ll see what the plan is going forward. No idea really,” Lowry said.
The winner of the 2019 Open Championship, Lowry has three wins on the PGA Tour. He finished in a tie for second at the 2016 US Open, tied third at the 2022 Masters, and tied fourth at the 2021 PGA Championship.
