Ontario man, 29, charged in B.C. human-trafficking investigation

A 29-year-old Ontario man is facing multiple charges in connection with a B.C. human-trafficking investigation.
Jahail Green was charged May 11 with trafficking in persons, procuring a person to provide sexual services, material benefit from trafficking, material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services and assault, B.C. RCMP announced Thursday (June 25).
The alleged offences occurred between January 2025 and January 2026.
Police said the investigation began in May 2025.
Investigators searched a home in Vaughn, Ont. in May 2026. Green was arrested then. He has since been released by the courts on numerous conditions.
Insp. Lyndsay O’Ruairc, with the B.C. Counter Human Trafficking Unit, said these charges are an “important reminder that offenders cannot hide in another province and expect to avoid detection.”
“At the same time, our priority remains supporting victims and we have established a collaborative strategy that supports immediate and long term physical and emotional safety. We also have an established network of organizations that support rebuilding financial stability, removing forced debt and even navigating possible solutions to immigration issues.”
O’Ruairc added that for the victims who have reached out to the B.C. Counter Human Trafficking Unit, there is a team ready to support them, “whether or not they want to press charges.”
B.C. RCMP worked with Durham Regional Police Service, Toronto Police Service Human Trafficking Unit, Toronto Police Division 43, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia and RCMP units from both B.C. and Ontario.
