People from across Winnipeg’s Christian community are being invited to gather for an afternoon of worship this weekend as Praise Xplosion returns with a renewed focus on praise, unity, and faith.
“Praise Xplosion is a command from God, for us to bring people together in the city to worship God,” says Gbolahan Oduntan. “It’s beyond your denomination, it’s beyond your race, it’s beyond your colour, even your belief. It’s all about God.”
This is an annual event put on at this time of year by STO Global Missions.

“The theme for this year is, let everything that has breath, praise the Lord. When we talk about everything, that is you, and I, even your animals. The birds of the air, the trees.”
Worship only this year
Bumni Praise, a worship leader and artist in Winnipeg, will be singing during the event.
“The word says that when praises go up, blessings will surely come down. We want to experience God in a new dimension and experience His glory. Enjoy His presence, in oneness and togetherness.”
Two worship artists from Nigeria are in the city, ready to perform at the event. Local Christian artist Jake Fretz will also be there.
“For this event, it’s purely worship. In the past editions, we’ve had drama, we’ve had dance. But this year, what God is saying is, ‘Just praise me.'”
Free to attend
Praise Xplosion is taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2070 Dugald Rd. The doors will open at 3 p.m., and the event will start at 3:30. While the event is free to attend, the coordinators are asking people to register.
“God said, ‘Ask, and it shall be given. Knock, and it will be open.’ God is waiting for us. So we are expecting that people will receive healing and comfort even for their sorrows. Music is a healing tool.”
