The shortest road trip of the regular season is here for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Week 4 has the 2-0 Roughriders at home taking on the 1-1 Toronto Argonauts, but due to Toronto’s home stadium of BMO Field being a host site for Senegal vs. Iraq at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday night, the Argos are technically calling Mosaic Stadium home despite what will no doubt be a normal gameday atmosphere in the provincial capital.

Previewing the “Prairie Blizzard”
The Roughriders are embracing the road team mentality on Friday night with a Prairie Blizzard set to hit the stands.
After teasing the whiteout game prior to the season, on Tuesday the club released redesigned threads, that alongside a stadium interior encouraged to wear white that will make Mosaic look as pearl as its roof for the Riders second home game of 2026.
After two high scoring games to start the season, a strong 31-27 win against BC and 40-37 double overtime thriller against Calgary, Friday night’s game shouldn’t be shy on scoring with two of the CFL’s top offenses in the early season taking the field.
Saskatchewan is at 71 points for and a +7-point differential in two games, Toronto a touch better at 74 points and +13 in their first two. Each starting quarterback has been hot to start the season, Trevor Harris collecting 766 yards and six touchdowns versus zero interceptions on 73.6 per cent passing, Kelly at 869 yards on 67.9 per cent passing but sporting a tough 7:5 TD/INT ratio.
The Riders will hope Kelly’s interception troubles lead them to their first takeaway of the season on defense, a special teams kickoff recovery against Calgary last week the team’s only takeaway so far. The Argos could be thinking the same way with Harris perfect through two games and possibly due, though knocking the ball loose could be a better option this week with a fresh running back in the mix for the Roughriders, Quali Conley getting the start for an injured A.J. Oullette and looking to make his mark.
Wiebe draws into Riders lineup
A special debut is set for Friday with Rosetown native, and former University of Saskatchewan Huskies star receiver Daniel Wiebe on the Roughriders depth chart for the first time this year.
A 2025 draft pick by the Riders, Wiebe made the practice squad following a strong training camp that included the game winning touchdown in the pre-season finale in Saskatoon against Winnipeg.
Now Wiebe is penciled in behind 2025 Grey Cup Most Outstanding Canadian Samuel Emilus at slotback, looking to make the most of any opportunities he gets whether it be on offense or in the kick return game.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. The Roughriders and Argos will meet again in Regina on September 29 in a true home game for Saskatchewan.
