The Moose Jaw Warriors Alumni Golf Tournament presented by HK Henderson | Navacord is less than a week away, and spots are still available for the annual fundraising event.
The 15th annual tournament will begin on July 2, 2026, at the Moose Jaw Shrine Club with registration, dinner and a social event starting at 5 p.m.
Tournament committee member Todd Hudson says the opening night also features one of the event’s unique traditions — the team draft.
Tournament brings unique format
Unlike a traditional golf tournament where teams register together, participants enter individually and are placed onto teams through a draft process.
“Nobody enters a team; you just enter yourself with a handicap, and we actually draw out of six hats to make four players on each team,” said Hudson. “We split the captains into two, the seconds into two, and then the third and fourth just as they fall. So, it really evens it up.”
Following the draft, attendees will enjoy a prime rib supper prepared by Hudson and Chuck Cole.
The golf portion of the tournament takes place on July 3 at Hillcrest Golf Club, beginning with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. before the shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Each participant will also receive a special gift as part of their registration.
“We won’t say what it is until you get there Friday morning, but it’s different. It’s not a shirt, it’s just something different that we’ve added this year,” added Hudson.
Alumni returning for annual event
The tournament will feature several Moose Jaw Warriors alumni, including one of the event’s biggest supporters, Theoren Fleury.
Fleury played for the Warriors from 1983 to 1988 and has been involved with the tournament since its inception.
“He’s been an absolute ambassador for this tournament since we started it 15 years ago. He only missed one year, so that’s pretty impressive for a guy like that,” said Hudson.
Other alumni expected to attend include Joey Perricone, Atley Calvert, Blair Jones, Carter Smith, Brennan Wray and many more.

Funds support Warriors Education Fund
All proceeds from the tournament go toward the Moose Jaw Warriors Education Fund, which helps players pursue post-secondary education.
HK Henderson | Navacord representative Tony Drager says supporting the tournament is a way to support both the hockey club and the community.
“This is huge because the Warriors are a huge pillar of our community. Without the Warriors, that’s a big loss to our community,” said Drager. “We need to keep the team running, and we need to keep the kids educated.”
Over the past 14 years, the tournament has raised $1.36 million for the Education Fund.
Drager credits the tournament’s success to the support of local businesses and community members.
“The business community of Moose Jaw got behind this tournament, and they’re the ones that really, truly make this such a big success.”
Million-dollar opportunity returns
Golfers will also have the chance to take part in the $1-million shootout, sponsored by Velocity Ford.
The event gives 10 participants an opportunity to attempt a hole-in-one for the grand prize on hole No. 9 at Hillcrest Golf Course.
“We auction 10 people off, and each gets a chance at $1 million. If the first guy who shoots for the $1 million makes a hole-in-one, we continue on,” explained Hudson.
In the tournament’s 14-year history, nobody has claimed the $1-million prize.
New presenting sponsor joins tournament
This year’s tournament also features a new presenting sponsor, as HK Henderson | Navacord signed a three-year partnership with the Warriors.
Drager says the partnership aligns with the company’s values, especially when it comes to education.
“When we did take this on, we were really excited because lifelong learning is a pillar of our brand compass, and this is going to education, so it just fit well hand in hand,” said Drager.
