TRAVERSE CITY – The Mona Shores boys’ soccer team had a tough start to the season with a pair of losses at the Traverse City Central Invitational on Saturday.

The Sailors battled through the summer heat and humidity, but fell to Saginaw Heights, 1-0, and Traverse City Central, 5-0.

“Despite the outcomes, I see a lot of potential in this young lineup,” said Mona Shores coach William Moulatsiotis. “Parker Rose played inspirational goalkeeping and led the team through a grueling two hours of soccer with only a five-minute break between games.”

Mona Shores (0-2) will open its home schedule on Tuesday against Grandville.
