Team Canada headlines elite international showcase featuring top programs from around the globe

The countdown is on for Canada Cup International Softball Championship 2026, as one of the world’s premier international fastpitch events returns to Surrey’s Softball City July 3 to 12.

The 31st Canada Cup welcomes many of the sport’s top national teams, rising stars and elite international athletes for 10 days of world-class competition, electric atmosphere and unforgettable moments on Canadian soil. 

Team Canada leads the charge, competing in front of home fans as part of a stacked international field featuring teams from across North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and Europe.

Confirmed teams for the 2026 Women’s International Division include: American Samoa; Brazil; Canada National Team; Canada Elite Team; China; Chinese Taipei National Team; Chinese Taipei Development Team; Czechia U22; Israel; Peru; Saskatchewan 222’s; Singapore; TC Colorado; and Venezuela.

“The Canada Cup is where the world comes to compete, and where fans get the rare opportunity to watch some of the best softball players on the planet in one place,” says Canada Cup Chair Greg Timm. “Every summer, this tournament delivers incredible international matchups, unforgettable performances, and an atmosphere that celebrates both elite sport and community. We’re especially excited to welcome Team Canada back to Surrey to compete in front of passionate home crowds.”

Team Canada begins its Canada Cup campaign on Monday, July 6 with a marquee matchup against Brazil at 6 p.m., before returning to the diamond on Tuesday, July 7 to take on Venezuela at 6 p.m. The action continues with a highly anticipated showdown against New Zealand on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:15 p.m., before Canada closes out round-robin play with key matchups against Czechia and China on Thursday, July 9 and Chinese Taipei Development on Friday, July 10.

Playoffs run July 11 and 12, with the Gold Medal Final taking the field at 7 p.m. July 12.

Since its inception, the Canada Cup has grown into one of the most respected international softball tournaments in the world, serving as a key development and competition platform for Olympic and national team athletes. The tournament annually attracts elite players, college scouts, international federations and thousands of fans to Surrey, helping cement British Columbia as a destination for world-class sport.

Beyond the Women’s International division, the Canada Cup will welcome more than 1,500 athletes competing across additional divisions, including Futures Select (U19), Futures Gold (U19), Showcase Select (17U), and Showcase Gold (17U). Known for its festival atmosphere, youth engagement initiatives and community spirit, powered by hundreds of volunteers and local supporters, the tournament continues to be a vital platform for athlete development while delivering a world-class experience for fans, families, and the local community.
