The Sens waited until the 5th round to pick a defenceman, and this one looks like exactly the time of defenceman the Sens would opt for. He’s 6’4 and a shutdown defender for the Soo Greyhounds.
By this point in the draft, it’s hard to figure out how any of these players will turn out, but this one seems to have potential. He’s not much of an offensive threat but he does have size, obviously, and one scouting report called him “one of the OHL’s most improved players” earlier this year. The Sens clearly like their late bloomers.
