Taste of Cloverdale returns to Fairgrounds this summer

A one-day festival celebrating the flavours of Cloverdale’s restaurants is set to return this summer.

Taste of Cloverdale, hosted by the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce, is coming back for its 2nd annual event on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds Aug. 21.

“Join us for a great evening,” said Scott Wheatley, the Chamber’s executive director. “We’ll have incredible food and beverages, great music, and great conversations.”

The one day fest will showcase restaurants in Cloverdale, Clayton Heights, and Campbell Heights. The night will include sampling, networking, and live music.

“We’ve already got a dozen vendors lined up,” Wheatley said.

“We’re going to have a Lawless back too, they’ll play during the evening,” he added. Lawless is a Vancouver-based country band. They recently played the Cloverdale Rodeo and the Chamber’s Chicken Dinner Dance.

Wheatley noted Mainland Whiskey will be back again this year as well as 1st ROW Winery from Campbell Heights.

“We encourage everyone to get out to Taste of Cloverdale,” he said. “It’s a neat little event that always supports a good cause.”

This year’s good cause is the B.C. Vintage Truck Museum. They are currently looking for a new home and a portion of the evenings proceeds will be given to the museum.

Wheatley said supporting Taste of Cloverdale also “helps preserve a treasured piece” of the province’s rich transportation history.

He added they are looking for sponsors too. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event can reach out to the Chamber.

Taste of Cloverdale will run from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 21 in Shannon Hall (6050 176th Street) on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $60 or $85 (VIP). VIP entry includes everything along with exclusive table seating.
