Playing styles and prediction
Zheng hasn’t had the year that maybe he would have wanted so far but the American has kept up his 100% streak in qualifying for Grand Slams this season. After qualifying for the Australian Open and Roland Garros, Zheng secured three good wins to reach the main draw at Wimbledon. The American has a dynamic game and likes to take the ball early on return and will aim to continue that style of play in order to cause a big upset at Wimbledon.
Norrie will aim to dominate on his first serve and will use the backhand to up the tempo of the rallies and use depth in central areas of the court. Meanwhile Zheng will attack the second serve and will use the dropshot to take Norrie by surprise. This should be a good first test for Norrie and will test his skillset on grass. However, last year’s quarter-finalist should have too much consistent quality and is expected to prevail in a tricky opening round match.
Prediction: Norrie in four sets.
