Cyclists from the Green Route Cycling Club and Red River Cycling Club came together on a rainy Sunday morning for the third annual Terry Fox Ride of Hope.
The group has a goal of raising $10,000 for life-changing cancer research. The national fundraiser features 16 rides taking place across seven provinces.
This year, Winnipeg’s route followed a 126km loop stretching from Assiniboine Park to Fannystelle, Elie, and St. François-Xavier.

Roughly 30 sponsored cyclists gathered, and co-organizer Daniel Wesley said that the weather wasn’t going to stop them
“I think the biggest thing is that type two fun of going through this experience with everyone knowing that we have a common goal and shared passion for cycling and raising money for a good cause. So I think completing the ride, cheering each other on, and battling through the elements is the biggest thing for me that I’m looking forward to,” said Daniel Wesley, the founder & president of Green Route Cycling Club.
