Stephen Eustáquio was the hero for Canada.

The 29-year-old midfielder found the back of the net with a pinpoint shot from just outside the box one minute into stoppage time and Canada held on to beat South Africa 1-0 in World Cup action on Sunday. Canada is the first team to earn its spot in the Round of 16, where it will face the winner of tomorrow’s match between the Netherlands and Morocco.

While Sunday’s game took place in Los Angeles, revellers in bars throughout Montreal took in the action, living and dying with every corner kick, save and, finally, goal. Here’s how the action unfolded at popular soccer spot the Burgundy Lion.
