CHEYENNE – South Side Sluggers’ athlete Ayden Osborne placed third in the junior male 110-pound division at the Junior Olympic national championships Saturday in Wichita, Kansas.

Osborne – who is from Laramie – opened with a unanimous decision victory over Roman Perez of La Quinta, California. He followed that with a split decision win over Noel Mejia of Hanford, California.

Osborne lost his semifinal to eventual national champion Leighton Patricio of Waianae, Hawaii, by unanimous decision. Osborne placed third due to Patricio winning the national title.
