Peel Regional Police have charged a 36-year-old Mississauga man in connection with a series of alleged unprovoked assaults and property damage incidents dating back to November 2024.
In a news release, police said Kuo Yang Du was initially arrested on June 20, 2026, in connection with an unrelated investigation. However, further investigation led officers to believe he was allegedly responsible for multiple incidents involving unprovoked assaults and extensive property damage.
According to investigators, several victims were allegedly attacked without provocation. Police also allege that the accused was involved in numerous incidents in which rocks were thrown at vehicles and other properties, causing damage.
As a result of the investigation, Kuo Yang Du has been charged with:
15 counts of Mischief Over $5,000
One count of Assault
One count of Assault with a Weapon
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims or witnesses who have not yet come forward. Police are urging anyone who may have experienced a similar unprovoked assault or damage to their vehicle or property to contact investigators.
Members of the public are also encouraged to review any available dashcam, residential, or commercial surveillance footage for incidents involving a man allegedly throwing rocks at vehicles or properties.
