Penticton chooses champion for Memphis’ Ultimate Elvis competition

After three days celebrating the music of the King of Rock and Roll, Penticton’s annual Elvis Festival wrapped up with its final show on June 28 and the selection of a champion.
The annual event, the longest running Elvis Festival in Canada, marked its 24th year over the weekend with a packed house at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
The Elvis Tribute Artists (ETA) showcased the best of the King of Rock and Roll, from his most tender moments to his most iconic rock’n’roll songs.
Artists young and old, new to Penticton and familiar faces, all got on stage to pay tribute to the musical legend.
This year saw three truly young ETAs take to the stage, and despite their size, they didn’t seem intimated at all by the crowd as they powered through a song apiece.
The winner of this year’s festival in the professional category, with the door now open to August’s Ultimate Elvis competition in Memphis, was Angel Saucedo.
The non-pro division crowned Jesse Lamont as the top performer, earning him the right to enter as a pro in future events.
After the final performances, the headliners returned to the stage, including 2024’s Penticton pro champion Moses Snow, joined by Emilio Santoro and Bruno Nesci.
Tickets are already on sale for the 2027 Penticton Elvis Fetsival, which will mark a milestone of 25 years celebrating the King of Rock and Roll, alongside the commemoration and 50th anniversary of Elvis’ death.
