A 17-year-old boy was in critical condition Monday evening after a near-drowning incident in Montreal’s Anjou borough.
According to Montreal police, a 911 call around 5:20 p.m. reported the unconscious teen in a backyard on Lévesque Ave., near Georges Ave.
Police were told the teen was swimming at a friend’s house when he started struggling and went under water. People pulled him out of the pool but he was already unconscious.
Authorities administered first aid upon arrival before the teen was rushed to a local hospital, where he was deemed to be in critical condition.
Police were interviewing witnesses Monday evening and looking for any possible security camera footage of the incident.
