OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Scottie Scheffler has largely dominated the PGA Tour again this season, but he had a decent hill to climb outside Baltimore if he was going to win the 2025 BMW Championship and claim the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Sitting four shots behind 18-, 36- and 54-hole leader Robert MacIntyre entering Sunday’s final round, Scheffler stormed past the Scotsman through the front nine, going 2 under compared to 3 over mark for MacIntyre that flipped their positions on the leaderboard at the midway point of Round 4.

MacIntyre stood in pole position having shot the lowest scores of the day cross the first two rounds while only dropping a shot to Scheffler on Moving Day. He posted the lowest 54-hole score of his PGA Tour career while seeking his first win since the Scottish Open, 13 months ago, but the walls are closing in fast. While third-place Ludvig Ã…berg was unable to keep up his quality play Sunday, some interesting names have stormed into the top five with nine holes remaining as Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, Tommy Fleetwood and Maverick McNealy have all taken advantage of points-scoring opportunities to improve their positions in the FedEx Cup standings.
