Two people are in hospital after police say a TransLink bus driver suffered a medical emergency at the wheel and crashed in Lower Lonsdale.
North Vancouver RCMP say the crash happened around 9:45 a.m. on West Third Street at Mahon Avenue.
Witnesses told investigators the bus was headed west on third when the driver went into medical distress, causing the bus to collide with several parked cars and then a tree.
The driver was taken to hospital and is being treated. One passenger also suffered minor injuries.
North Vancouver RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are now investigating exactly what happened.
“We are relieved that no passengers were seriously injured in this collision, and our thoughts are with the bus driver as they receive medical care,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, North Vancouver RCMP spokesperson.
Anyone who witnessed or has video of the collision is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 26-13248.
