Former Creek Wood Red Hawk Brodie Balitsky won his fourth professional fight over the weekend to improve to a perfect 4-0 record. Balitsky defeated Alabama’s Christopher Cornutt in Hub City’s MMA Fight Night 12. The event took place Saturday in Jackson, Tennessee.
The fight went the full three rounds, and Balitsky won by unanimous decision to retain his championship belt. The announcers stated that this fight had “fight of the year written all over it.”

Cornutt came out strong, but Balitsky pushed hard in the final round to get a knockdown and almost submit Cornutt.
“I’ve never had more of an adrenaline rush than I got in this fight,” Balitsky said. “I got a second wind in the third round and I needed it. He (Cornutt) was the toughest opponent I’ve ever faced. He had a very good chin and great cardio.”
With the win, Balitsky is now No. 2 in Tennessee among MMA amateur welterweights.
“I got the win through God giving me strength and blessing me with an amazing coach to push me,” Balitsky said.
Balitsky said he plans to fight again in October, but no opponent has been named.
“I would love to fight in the UFC, but right now I’m just moving fight to fight and living in the moment,” Balitsky said.
