John Wick star and action movie icon Scott Adkins shows no signs of slowing down as he returns to do what he does best in an all-new action thriller which has just been picked up for release. After plying his trade for decades and remaining criminally underrated throughout, Adkins has seen his star rise after recently featuring in some of his most high-profile roles ever: Netflix’s The Rip and John Wick: Chapter 4. Now, the actor and martial artist is reuniting with the director behind some of his best action efforts for another gloriously no-nonsense cinematic explosion.
Adkins will once again act and fight under the direction of Jesse V. Johnson for the martial arts action thriller Irish Dog. The pair have already worked together multiple times on the likes of The Debt Collectors franchise, Savage Dog, the comic adaptation Accident Man, the crime thriller Avengement, and Triple Threat, which saw Adkins join forces with fellow action icons Tony Jaa, Hu Chen, Iko Uwais, and Michael Jai White.

Irish Dog sees Adkins take the lead as “a London nightclub bouncer who reluctantly agrees to accompany an old friend on a trip to Spain,” as per the newly released official logline. “What begins as a chance to escape the routine of his everyday life quickly spirals into a dangerous gathering of powerful criminals, old enemies, and unresolved loyalties. Far from the streets of London and under the sun of the Spanish coast, Martin finds himself pulled back toward a violent world he has fought desperately to leave behind.”
Irish Dog has now been picked up for distribution in many international markets, and has been acquired for German-speaking Europe by Tiberius Film, Eastern Europe by MediaSquad, MENA territories by Front Row Filmed Entertainment, Italy by Plaion Pictures, and India and SAARC territories by Dimension Pictures. No word on North America as yet, but that’s sure to follow ahead of filming, which is due to begin this fall.
Irish Dog sounds like another adrenaline-fueled action thriller for Adkins. One that will quickly turn from white-knuckle to bloody-knuckle as the actor and martial artist faces off against an onslaught of enemies while baking under the red hot Spanish sun. Scott Adkins will make his directorial debut with Brawler, as well as join forces with The Raid star Iko Uwais for the sci-fi action sequel Skyline: Warpath, return for more one-take action in the upcoming finale, One Last Shot, break his sister out of an asylum in the period-set action thriller Bedlam, and take on villain duties in the siege thriller Deadlocked.
