Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are allegedly having some “not comfortable discussions” about a prenup amid rumors about their engagement.
According to Australia’s New Idea, Jackman was initially opposed to getting a prenup with Foster, especially after never having one during his first marriage to ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness. However, the couple are allegedly negotiating a $200 million agreement. “Hugh was against a prenup initially, but his business team and his ex kicked off about it, with Sutton also wanting to protect her future should things go sideways,” a friend of Hugh’s allegedly told New Idea.

“This is a $200m prenup, including a $50m ‘no hard feelings’ exit package, and it’s mostly designed around protecting all three kids,” the source added. Jackman is a father to 24-year-old Oscar and 20-year-old Ava with Furness. Foster shares 9-year-old daughter Emily with her ex-husband, Ted Griffin.
“This is all new territory for both of them, and it’s not comfortable discussions, but neither of them is willing to walk away – and Hugh genuinely believes the Sutton trolls will calm down once they’re married,” the source continued.

New Idea reports that Jackman and Foster got engaged in January during a New Year’s vacation in Costa Rica. “It wasn’t a shock to Sutton as it’s something they’ve been talking about,” a source said.
However, amid public backlash over their relationship, insiders have said thagt Foster and Jackman are also navigating the opinions of his children and ex-wife. “Even though Hugh is excited to start this next chapter with Sutton, he has to be sensitive to his kids,” a source told the National Enquirer. “They’re incredibly protective of their mother and he wants to be respectful of that.”
“Hugh really wants his kids at the wedding,” shared the source. “They both want their loved ones with them to celebrate.”
Foster and Jackman first went public with their relationship in January 2025, but it is widely reported that they started their romance as an affair while appearing together in The Music Man on Broadway in 2022. At the time Jackman was still married to Furness, from whom he split in 2023 after 27 years of marriage. Foster was still married to Griffin, from whom she separated in 2024 after 10 years of marriage.
