A 48-year-old Brampton man is facing a sexual assault charge after an alleged incident involving a rideshare passenger in Toronto.
Toronto police said in a news release that officers responded to a report of a sexual assault near Danforth and Broadview avenues on Sunday, June 28. Investigators allege the victim had requested a ride through a rideshare app and was driven to the destination. Before the victim exited the vehicle, the driver allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
Police have identified the accused as Nathaniel Ezema of Brampton. He has been charged with one count of sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 6.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Toronto police or Crime Stoppers.
