On July 2, 2026, the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) arrested and charged a 34-year-old man from Mississauga with luring a child under 18 and making sexually explicit material available to a child following a two-month investigation.
The ICE Unit received a report from Uniform Patrol concerning a child under 18 being lured and exploited online via social media platforms Instagram and Snapchat.
The ICE Unit executed a search warrant on July 2 at a residence in Mississauga. Several electronic devices belonging to the accused were seized for full forensic analysis.
