Six teens are facing charges after the stabbing of another teen during a fight in southeast Calgary.
Calgary police say officers were called to a home on Auburn Meadows Way SE in the community of Auburn Bay around 5:40 p.m. on May 7.
Officers arrived to find a 17‑year‑old boy suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital in life‑threatening condition and has since been released.
Investigators believe the incident began about 10 minutes earlier when the victim was confronted by seven teens in an alley behind the home. A fight broke out involving six of the teens and the victim, during which the victim was bear‑sprayed and stabbed.
Two suspects were arrested a short time later. Officers were able to identify four additional suspects who were arrested in the following weeks.
Four 14‑year‑old boys and two 15‑year‑old boys have each been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and disguise with intent. All six are scheduled to appear in court in July.
The accused cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police are asking anyone additional information to call 403‑266‑1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
