Kimi Antonelli completed a perfect Saturday at the British Grand Prix by taking pole position for Sunday’s race.
The championship leader will be alongside Charles Leclerc on the front row of the grid at Silverstone, with home hero Lewis Hamilton starting third after failing to show the pace which brought him to Sprint pole on Friday.

George Russell qualified fourth, having used up an extra set of new tyres early after sliding off track and into the wall early in Q1. His Mercedes simply understeered off the road at Luffield, locking his tyres and gliding serenely over the gravel into the barrier – oh-so gently nudging it with his front wing, picking up a small amount of damage but enough that he couldn’t make it to the pits for a new wing.
Isack Hadjar will start as the leading Red Bull in fifth place, with his team and McLaren alternating places down to eighth.
At the back of the grid, Lance Stroll outqualified his team-mate Fernando Alonso for the second time in recent weeks…but the two will still start at the back of the grid (in fact, Stroll behind Alonso thanks to power unit changes before qualifying).
Pierre Gasly will start the race from P15 despite qualifying in 12th after the stewards found him guilty of impeding Stroll during qualifying, handing him a three-place grid drop.
Kimi Antonelli roared to a brilliant pole at Silverstone.
