With an estimated cost of $60 billion to $90 billion, the Alto high-speed rail project likely will be plagued by serious cost overruns, judging the Liberals’ past record. With 13 vice-presidents already, the cost for management alone is staggering.
Much prime farmland and many small businesses will be destroyed.
Bottom line, this project is intended by Mark Carney to keep his voters happy in Quebec and Ontario. Those in Western Canada will be sharing in the humongous cost without being able to have any benefits from it.
There are far more urgently pressing things needing addressing than this outlandish, costly Carney boondoggle.

HARD TIMES AND HIGH SPEED
We ordinary people don’t purchase anything unless we have the finances for it. All across Canada, we are finding it difficult to make ends meet with housing and food costs constantly increasing.
The Liberals don’t seem to realize that we are having hard times, so they are willing to spend $90 billion for an unnecessary high-speed train.
A pipeline across Canada is necessary to share our God-given gift of needed fuel with the world. Our tax dollars should go toward a Canadian pipeline instead of a train for only Quebec and Ontario.

To the letter writer who thinks Brady Tkachuk deserves to win Lord Stanley’s Cup, how about his former teammates and all the fans who supported him for eight years? Justice would be for Brady never to win a Stanley Cup.
