Clark, 23, is currently sidelined with a hurt groin, which has seen her miss the previous 12 games.

And it appears that she will not be on the court any time soon, according to Fever coach Stephanie White.

There is some hope that Clark will make her return before the end of the regular season though.

On Sunday, White was asked about Clark’s potential return to the team before the playoffs..

White said: “That’s the hope.

“The hope is that she’s back.

Clark made her breakthrough last season after being the No. 1 pick in 2024.

She starred throughout her rookie campaign but this season has been forgettable due to injuries.

She has been limited to just 13 games in which she has averaged 16.5 points and 8.8 assists per game.

White has insisted that it is Fever’s responsibility not to rush Clark back to action.

She has claimed that the guard is keen to get back on the court but they want to avoid any long-term health issues.

White added: “The experience throughout the year, trying to come back and come back quickly, has also taught her that she needs to make sure that she’s 100 per cent.

“Every competitor wants to play, but at the same time doing it the right way and making sure, after we’ve had a couple of setbacks.

“We’re prioritizing her long-term health and wellness is the most important thing.”
