Police say two men have been charged for allegedly vandalizing a Pride crosswalk in Surrey’s City Central neighbourhood.
One of those men has been charged again for allegedly defacing the sidewalk in another incident.
Amrit Birring, 58, and Errol Povah, 67, were both charged with one count each of mischief over $5,000 for an incident on May 30, according to a news release from Surrey Police Service (SPS).
“The mischief allegedly occurred during a protest,” said the release.
The two men were charged on June 26. One day later the same sidewalk was allegedly defaced again, SPS said.
Povah was charged with a second count of mischief over $5,000.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact a non-police emergency line.
