Harbour Air lands in Campbell River

The first Harbour Air flight landed in Campbell River on the morning of July 6.
Campbell River is the latest part of the airline’s largest seasonal expansion to date, joining other new routes like the Victoria-Seattle, and Ucluelet routes.
“The expansion delivers on strong demand across the Pacific Northwest, adding new connections to communities like Ucluelet – named one of Expedia’s 2026 Destinations of the Year – and Campbell River, a gateway to world-class fishing and wilderness adventures. For the first time, Vancouver Island travellers will have direct cross-border seaplane service without routing through Vancouver,” said a release from Harbour Air when the route was announced back in March.
The inaugural flight on Monday marked the launch of scheduled seaplane service between Downtown Vancouver and the Campbell River Water drome (YHH) at Tyee Spit.
“The new service strengthens connectivity, enhances access for residents, businesses, and visitors, and represents another step in building an even stronger and more diverse aviation sector in Campbell River,” a release from Harbour Air says.
There was a cultural welcome by an Elder from the Wei Wai Kum First Nation on Monday morning, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from the City of Campbell River and Harbour Air. The ceremony was followed by the first scheduled arrival of the plane at 11:25 a.m., and then the first scheduled departure at 11:55 a.m.
The Campbell River route is once daily between Campbell River and Vancouver. One-way fares start at $139.
