We’re now just a week away from PlayStation bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (that still sounds weird to say), and the Xbox version is even being actively promoted on the PlayStation website right now.
This has been spotted by various eagle-eyed Xbox fans over the past 24 hours-or-so – they’re basically added a “Buy on Xbox” section to the Helldivers 2 page where you can find out more information and be redirected to the Xbox Store.
Here’s a look at it:
Of course, this makes total sense from a Sony perspective – it’s still a first-party PlayStation game, and looking at the success of Forza Horizon, Oblivion Remastered and other Xbox properties on PS5 over the past few months, they’ll be hoping to attract some really impressive sales with Helldivers 2 when it launches on Xbox next week.
It’s only worthy of a news piece because we’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s the first time we can ever remember Xbox getting significantly promoted on the PlayStation Store in any form, and here’s hoping it’s the first instance of many – it’ll all depend on whether Helldivers 2 can climb the Xbox charts from August 26th onwards.
