The Calgary Stampede rolls into Monday with rodeo, the Calgary Stampede Powwow, Tsuut’ina Nation Day, Team Cattle Penning, family attractions and a strong evening music lineup.
July 6 also marks the final day of the Heavy Horse Show, which has been running since July 3 inside the Nutrien Western Event Centre.
Monday at Stampede Park
All-day events include the Canadian Armed Forces Displays, Kids’ Midway, interpretive programming at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge, Live Sand Sculpting at the BMO Centre’s Western Oasis and market vendors at The Market starting at 11 a.m.
Agriculture programming continues with Born To Buck presented by Holt Renfrew, Cattle Trail, Country Critters, Milky Way Dairy displays and demonstrations, Draft Horse Town, Horse Haven, Nutrien Ag-tivity in the City and the Sheep & Pork Showcases.
The Heavy Horse Show, Horse Haven showcases and Draft Horse demos are also on the Monday schedule.
Rodeo, powwow and Western events
The Calgary Stampede Powwow presented by TC Energy is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Stampede Rodeo is set for 1:30 p.m. at GMC Stadium.
Team Cattle Penning presented by Petrus Resources is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre, with a pre-show at 6:30 p.m. and another Team Cattle Penning event listed for 7 p.m.
The Evening Show is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at GMC Stadium.
Elbow River Camp
Elbow River Camp programming includes flag raising, Camp Riders, Horse Culture, interpretive tours, tipi viewing, Sharing Our Culture and flag lowering.
Tsuut’ina Nation Day is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Elbow River Camp.
Family-friendly picks
Paw Patrol: Dino Rescue! is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., with Paw Patrol meet-and-greets at 12:10 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Gabby’s Dollhouse Dance Party is scheduled for 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., with a meet-and-greet at 3 p.m.
Other family options include Bubble Playshop, Little Rodeo Pro, Team T&J Present Kids’ Dino Stompin’ Jamboree, Freestyle Motocross at the Monster Energy Compound and Full Throttle at Dog Bowl Arena in Community Park South.
Visitors can also check out the High Dive Show, the Grand Staircase Show featuring the Stampede Showband, Dueling Piano Kings and community stage programming inside the BMO Centre.
Food, demos and showcases
The BMO Centre schedule includes a noon cooking demo featuring a dessert collaboration with Safeway and Larissa from Salt & Brick.
The Taste Of Stampede Culinary Cup with chefs from leading restaurants in Calgary and surrounding Alberta is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
A Community Showcase called Dinner Party: Blackbox Firefighters vs. Police Cookoff is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
Live music and evening entertainment
The Coca-Cola Stage lineup includes Sofia Camara at 7 p.m. and Jonah Kagen at 8:30 p.m.
Nashville North has Morgan Klaiber at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., Devin Cooper at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., Shane Smith & The Saints at 8:45 p.m., Hudson Westbrook at 10:30 p.m. and Foxx Worthee at 11:59 p.m.
The Big Four Roadhouse schedule includes Quinton Blair at 4 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., followed by Terri Clark at 9 p.m.
