Police seek public's help after fatal hit-and-run in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 38-year-old Mississauga woman. Anyone who has information about this incident has been urged to contact police.

Police have shared details of the vehicle involved and said that the collision happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the intersection of Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue West. Investigators say a white 2015-2020 Mercedes GLA 250 or GLA 45 was travelling eastbound on Eglinton Avenue West at a high rate of speed when it allegedly ran a red light and struck the woman as she crossed in a marked crosswalk.

Police say the driver fled the scene without stopping. The victim was pronounced dead.

Investigators are urging anyone with dashcam or cellphone footage from the area to come forward. They are also asking auto repair shops to report any white Mercedes matching the description with front-end or windshield damage.
