Raheem Morris, despite never playing in the NFL, has built an impressive coaching résumé throughout his career. He began his NFL coaching career as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defensive quality control coach in 2002. After spending more than two decades as an assistant across the league, Morris got another opportunity to lead a team, becoming the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in 2024.

But after back-to-back 8-9 seasons and missing the playoffs both years, Morris’ two-year tenure as the Falcons’ head coach came to an end on Jan. 4, 2026. The 49-year-old didn’t stay unemployed for long, however, joining Kyle Shanahan’s coaching staff with the San Francisco 49ers less than a month later as the team’s defensive coordinator.

Shortly after becoming the Falcons’ head coach in 2024, Morris purchased a home in Sandy Springs, Georgia, just north of downtown Atlanta, for $7.145 million. After owning the property for two years, he decided to sell it following his move to San Francisco, fetching $9.75 million, the highest residential sale ever recorded in Sandy Springs.

The mansion spans 14,779 square feet on a 2.3-acre lot and features six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, including seven full and three half baths. Morris’ former home also includes a pool and spa, a pickleball court, an indoor gymnasium, a fitness studio, an enclosed sports field and a four-car garage.

Despite the record-breaking sale, the price may not come as a surprise to many Atlanta locals, as Sandy Springs has long been home to several celebrities. Notable residents have included rapper Cardi B, TV host Steve Harvey, actor Josh Brolin and musician Akon.

“A home on W. Garmon Road in Sandy Springs just sold for a record $9.75 million, making it the most expensive residential sale in the city’s history,” Everything Georgia wrote on X.

The previous record for Sandy Springs was a home sold for $9,000,000 in 2024, with Morris beating that mark by $750,000.
