Best Fantasy Golf One and Done Pick for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open

Alex Hunter provides his top one and done golf pick for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club.

Fitzpatrick has been dominant this season, winning three times, which is tied for the most victories on the PGA TOUR in 2026. The Englishman won the Valspar Championship in March, the RBC Heritage in April and the team-based Zurich Classic in April playing alongside his brother Alex.

Fitzpatrick has many near wins as well. The 31-year-old finished runner-up at THE PLAYERS Championship in March, runner-up at the RBC Canadian Open last month and a solo fourth place finish at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago, which is his most recent start.

At TPC River Highlands, Fitzpatrick started and finished the Signature Event with a 6-under 64. He ranks second only to Scottie Scheffler in total strokes gained this season. More specifically, Fitzpatrick ranks second in SG APP, fourth in par four performance and 10th in total driving, all of which are terrific signs for the Renaissance Club. Three of the last four winners at this par 70 have finished the event top-15 in SG APP, SG OTT and par four performance.

Fitzpatrick has played very well at the Renaissance Club in the past, making 6-of-7 cuts and finishing inside the top-15 four times. He most notably lost in a playoff to Min Woo Lee at this par 70 in 2021. Fitzpatrick also finished T6th in 2022 and T4th last season.

During his T4 at the Renaissance Club last season, Fitzpatrick posted a 7-under 63 in the second round, which is his career low at this venue. Fitzpatrick has shot under par in 18-of-26 rounds at the Renaissance Club and he returns to the venue as the No.4 ranked player in the world, which is the highest he has ever ranked heading to the Renaissance Club.

He’s won nine times in Europe, including a three-stroke win at the 2023 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, so he knows how to get the job done overseas. Fitzpatrick has never been in a better position to win at the Renaissance Club and he shouldn’t be a popular pick for one and done pools this week, as many have already used him – Fitzpatrick is only available for 24% of my pool.
