Barnes brings veteran leadership to a young Spurs squad.
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have re-signed forward Harrison Barnes. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not announced.
Barnes, 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds, appeared in 77 games for the Spurs last season, averaging 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.8 minutes while shooting 45.6% from the field and 38.8% from three-point range helping guide the Silver and Black back to the postseason for the first time since 2019. In his two seasons with San Antonio, Barnes has appeared in 159 games (134 starts), averaging 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.5 minutes, while shooting 48.4% from the field and 41.1% from beyond the arc.
The 14-year vet has played in a total of 1,070 career games (984 starts) and holds averages of 13.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.9 minutes with Golden State, Dallas, Sacramento and San Antonio. In six postseason appearances, Barnes has averaged 8.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 26.6 minutes over 91 career playoff games (63 starts) with Golden State (2012-16), Sacramento (2022-23) and San Antonio (2025-26), winning the 2015 NBA Finals with the Warriors.
Off the court Barnes is active in the San Antonio community and throughout South Texas and Mexico. In his time with the Spurs, he and his wife Brittany have committed more than $500,000 to San Antonio residents and nonprofits through scholarships, grocery donations and AlamoPROMISE, a tuition-free program supporting students at St. Philip’s College. Through their Harrison and Brittany Barnes Community Fund, they launched a multi-city court refurbishment including spaces in San Antonio, Austin and Saltillo, Mexico. To date, three courts have been fully refurbished in Saltillo, two in Austin and one in San Antonio.
Barnes was selected seventh overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by Golden State out of North Carolina and was named to the 2012-13 All-Rookie First Team.
