BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Baltimore Orioles released details for their America 250 celebration at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Saturday, July 11, ahead of their 7:05 p.m. game against the Kansas City Royals.

The event will commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary with military tributes, patriotic ceremonies, special giveaways, new food offerings, and the ballpark’s first-ever postgame drone show.

Army veteran and Maryland native Daniel King will throw out the ceremonial first pitch alongside his son, who is preparing to enlist in the Army. King served 20 years with the Army Rangers and multiple Tier 1 organizations before retiring in 2018.

Fans attending the game can also receive patriotic giveaways! The first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive a Hot Dog Race cap, presented by DriveEzMD, with Ketchup, Mustard and Relish versions distributed at random.

An additional 15,000 handheld American flags, courtesy of America 250 and Major League Baseball, will be available from ushers and Guest Services locations throughout the stadium.

Military members will join Orioles players on the field during the national anthem, which will be performed by 103-year-old World War II veteran Corporal Wilbur J. “Jack” Myers of Williamsport, Maryland. Myers served as a corporal gunner in the U.S. Army’s 692nd Tank Destroyer Battalion and received the Bronze Star for his service.

During the anthem, a 30-by-42-foot replica of the historic Fort McHenry flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write “The Star-Spangled Banner” will be lowered from the batter’s eye.

The ceremony will also feature the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard presenting the colors, followed by a flyover from the Maryland Air National Guard’s 104th Fighter Squadron, known as the “Fightin’ O’s,” flying A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft.

A military member will deliver the ceremonial “Play Ball” announcement before first pitch.

Fans can also view a limited replica of the Stone Declaration of Independence in Legends Park before and during the game.

The Orioles will debut a new concession item, the Baltimore Dog, an all-beef hot dog topped with fried bologna, sauerkraut, caramelized onions and brown mustard. The specialty hot dog will be available at Camden Franks near Sections 39 and 83, The Eutaw Street Butchery and The All-Star Kitchen on the Club Level.

Patriotic decorations will be displayed throughout Camden Yards, including on the Warehouse, Flag Court and around the field.

Throughout the game, fans can expect military appreciation videos by Orioles players, Americana-themed music, a patriotic version of the Berks Live Hot Dog Race and a hot dog eating contest.

The Orioles will also recognize the 50th anniversary of the first women admitted to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis during an in-game ceremony.

Limited-edition USA250 x Fourth of July Orioles merchandise will be available at the Team Store on Eutaw Street.

Following the game, fans are invited to remain in their seats for Oriole Park’s first-ever drone show, presented by Coca-Cola. The display will feature synchronized drones creating patriotic imagery alongside Orioles, baseball and Maryland-themed visuals set to Americana music.

Gates for Saturday’s game will open at 5:30 p.m.
