A new Walmart Supercentre is opening in Ontario next year.
Brampton’s Bramalea City Centre, located at 25 Peel Centre Dr., will be the home of the 140,000 square-foot Supercentre, which is expected to open in 2027.
According to the retailer, the new space will feature Walmart’s full general merchandise assortment, a full grocery assortment, and a pharmacy.
“We’ve been a part of the Brampton community since 1994 and we’re excited to bring this new Supercentre — our sixth in the city — to Bramalea City Centre,” said Shawn Fujiki, senior director, Real Estate, Walmart Canada. “We’re opening this new Supercentre as part of our $6.5 billion investment in Canada announced last year, which will help to bring our everyday low prices to even more customers across the country.”
In February 2025, Walmart Canada announced a $6.5-billion investment in its store and supply chain footprint with plans for dozens of new stores to be built across Canada over the next five years.
At the time, the company stated its plans to open its first five new supercentres in Alberta and Ontario by 2027.
Walmart Canada currently operates 150 stores in Ontario.
Other upcoming openings at shopping malls
Last month, T&T Supermarket announced it would be opening a new 40,000-square-foot location at CF Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke.
Located at 25 The West Mall, the store is expected to be unveiled in the summer of 2027. It will be situated on the lower level of the mall where Pusateri used to be and marks the chain’s 17th location in Ontario.
Also slotted for a 2026 opening is the chain’s largest Ontario store, a 66,000-square-foot outpost set to launch at RioCan Empress Walk shopping mall.
Located just steps away from the North York Centre subway station at 5095 Yonge St., more than 500 T&T private label items, pantry staples, dim sum and trendy snacks will be featured at this spot.
