Champions were crowned Thursday as the Saskatchewan Junior Golf Championships wrapped up at The Legends Golf Club in Warman.
Ryan Mosher put an exclamation mark on the tournament, firing a 7-under par 65, the lowest round of the week, to claim his second Saskatchewan junior men’s title. The Saskatoon golfer finished at 14-under par, cruising to a 10-shot victory. Warman’s Dane Giesbrecht closed with a 2-under 70 to secure second place, while Prince Albert’s Wyatt Nelson finished one stroke back in third.
North Battleford’s Shae Maunula captured the under-17 boys’ championship after a final-round 3-under 69. His three-day total of 211 was also good enough for second overall in the junior boys’ championship. Pilot Butte’s Austin Nesbitt and Saskatoon’s Lucas Sturgeon shared second place in the under-17 division.
Melville’s Keaton Kreklewich claimed the under-15 boys’ title after an even-par 72, finishing six shots ahead of Regina’s Jun Lee. Swift Current’s Jace Munro climbed into third place with a final-round 75.
Regina’s Hudson Deibert successfully defended his under-13 boys’ championship. The 11-year-old shot a 2-over 74 to earn a four-shot victory over Saskatoon’s Cohen Bridge, who closed with a 1-under 73. Declan Kozakavich and Jackson Orr tied for third.
On the girls’ side, Grace Odnokon successfully defended both the under-19 and under-17 provincial titles. The defending champion capped off the tournament with a 2-under 70 to finish at 7-over par, six shots ahead of Kyle’s Chloe Wills. Host golfer Tina Liu placed third overall in the under-19 division and was runner-up in the under-17 category.
North Battleford’s Natalie Maunula completed a wire-to-wire victory in the under-15 girls’ division after a final-round 81. She finished seven shots clear of Wynyard’s Alyxa Melsted, while Saskatoon’s Clara Zhang rounded out the top three.
