The festival features more than 50 cultural pavilions, headliners 54-40 and Kulwinder Billa, plus live screenings of the FIFA World Cup bronze medal match and finals.
Surrey Fusion Festival is bringing the world together this July with Punjabi beats, global flavours and World Cup celebrations.
The festival returns on July 18 and 19 at Holland Park, turning the city into one of Metro Vancouver’s largest multi-cultural events. This year’s theme, “One World, One Game,” celebrates the excitement of the FIFA World Cup along with international flavours, local performances and community spirit.
“Surrey Fusion Festival is a highlight of our summer calendar and a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to come together in celebration of Surrey’s diversity,” says Mayor Brenda Locke in a press release.
“Fusion Festival is the ultimate celebration of food, music and culture, bringing people together through free live entertainment, cultural performances and more than 50 pavilions showcasing authentic traditions from around the world.” says Amy Kim, spokesperson for the City of Surrey.
Don’t forget to catch live soccer action with thousands of fans as the festival is also one of the official FIFA World Cup fan zones in Surrey. A site of celebration during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Holland Park will host live screenings of the FIFA World Cup bronze and final matches on both days, transforming the space into a lively hub for the fans to come together and celebrate the game.
Canadian rock band 54-40, known for hit-single “I Go Blind,” leads the live music lineup on Saturday, followed by Punjabi singer Kulwinder Billa, (known for hits like “Tich Button” and “Pagal”) taking the lead on Sunday.
The festival also features performances from Fionn (a twin-sister duo with a No. 1 single on Canadian Alternative Radio and the Billboard Canada charts), The Folk Turbanators (a Punjabi-Canadian group known for their high-energy performances) and many more local and international artists.
There will be live entertainment across eight stages throughout the weekend, alongside a Family Zone, Indigenous Village, cultural marketplace, dance battles and interactive activities.

Food is still one of the top attractions at the festival. A youth cooking competition (Master Chef vibes) hosted by Cultural Cooking Arena takes place on Saturday and Sunday features live cooking demonstrations by local chefs.
The Family Fun Zone offers plenty of activities for the kids. One of the major highlights includes the return of Shooting Star Amusements this year with all the amazing rides like the Zipper, the Spider, the Sizzler and Zero Gravity. Additionally, there are rides for little ones including bouncy castles.
One of the eight stages is dedicated for kids. The Family Fun stage offers kids to participate in free, fun cultural workshops and sing and dance along with musical performers.
