Quebec’s Transport Ministry is warning Montreal motorists of “considerable congestion” this coming weekend due to the closure of a busy stretch of Highway 40 eastbound, also known as the Metropolitan.
The expressway will be shut down between Exit 65 (the Montreal airport) and Highway 15 (Laurentians). The closure will be in effect from Friday at 11:30 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
The closure is to accommodate asphalt work on the highway. For the duration of the work, traffic will be diverted onto the Côte-de-Liesse service route.
Many ramps and exits that serve Highway 15, Highway 520 and Highway 40 will also be closed.
