The 2026 FIFA World Cup of Soccer ends on July 19th.
Question: have you come across a new LOONIE in your change? The Royal Canadian Mint announced that a new coin is in circulation – that celebrates the FIFA World Cup coming to Canada.
It’s a red, white and orange loonie. It features the FIFA maple leaf, and engravings of the World Cup emblem. It also has the names of the Canadian host cities: Toronto and Vancouver. KING CHARLES 3rd is on the front side.
So…keep an eye out for it. The new $1 commemorative coin is out there. You can find it in your change as banks and businesses across Canada replenish their inventories of $1 coins.
