Two pedestrians, a man and woman in their 60s, have been fatally struck by a vehicle in Scarborough
A man and a woman in their 60s are dead after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Friday afternoon.
Toronto police and paramedics were called to the intersection of Birchmount Road and Lawrence Avenue East at 1:48 p.m. for a collision.
Paramedics told CTV News that two pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, two women and a child who were in the vehicle were transported to the hospital, paramedics said. There is no immediate word on their conditions.
Police said the vehicle also hit and knocked down a pole.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are not immediately known.
The intersection is closed as police investigate the collision.
