There’s something magical about dancing outdoors by the waterfront during the summer, and these free lessons are a great way to get started.
Returning this month, Dancing on the Square is bringing free live music and lessons to Harbourfront Centre every Wednesday. It all kicks off on July 15, and will run until Sept. 2 at the Community Square, 235 Queens Quay W.
“Join us outdoors every Wednesday at 7 p.m. for free live music, dance lessons and a lively social dance experience,” states Harbourfront Centre’s website. “Whether you’re into salsa, line dancing, Cajun, the Lindy Hop or waltz, there’s something for everyone, so grab a partner (or meet one here!) and hit the dance floor. All levels are welcome!”
You could transport into the swing era, enjoy a little soca, or try line dancing. The celebration is free and will take place each week rain or shine.

July 22 — Waltz with Waltz Toronto.
July 29 — Soca with KJ McKnight.
Aug. 5 — Line Dancing with SPURS.
Aug. 12 — Forró with Forró For All.
Aug. 19 — Cajun with Tom & Myra.
Aug. 26 — Lindy Hop with Gabrielle & Charlie.
Sept. 2 — Scottish Country Dance with The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
