The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ newest road course ace flexed his muscle in qualifying on Saturday morning at Lime Rock Park.
Layne Riggs, who won at St. Petersburg and Naval Base Coronado earlier in the season, won the fifth pole of his Truck Series career and his first of 2026 at the Connecticut road course with a fastest lap of 53.683 seconds/99.115 miles per hour around the 1.5-mile track.
“I feel like I’m missing my marks and it’s still fast,” Riggs told FS1. “Thank you to everybody at Front Row Motorsports.”
Riggs enters Saturday’s race as the series points leader, holding a 65-point advantage over Kaden Honeycutt with five races left in the regular season.
Notable qualifying results
Connor Mosack will join Riggs on the front row, with Honeycutt, Thomas Annunziata and Ty Majeski rounding out the top five. Landen Lewis, Gio Ruggiero, Daniel Hemric, Chandler Smith and Jake Garcia completed the top 10.
Other notable qualifying efforts include Tyler Ankrum in 11th, Grant Enfinger — who was fastest in practice earlier in the day — in 12th, Parker Kligerman in 16th, Ben Rhodes in 17th and IndyCar driver Louis Foster in 26th.
Josh Reaume was the slowest driver in the session in 32nd, while Colin Braun will start last (33rd) and did not take time.
