Team Canada dominates round-robin at 2026 Canada Cup with ‘perfect record’

Team Canada completed its round-robin at the 2026 Canada Cup with a “perfect record” and has finished first in their group.
In their last round-robin game, Canada defeated Chinese Taipei Development 14-0 and finished at the top of their pool.
Cloverdale’s “Grace Messmer led the offensive charge with two home runs and four RBIs (runs batted in), while (Delta’s) Kelsey Harshman added a home run and drove in five runs. Canada broke the game open with an eight-run third inning, highlighted by home runs from Messmer and Zoe Hicks, as well as key RBI hits from Kianna Jones and Harshman,” said a Canada Cup press release Friday (July 11).
Canada will face Chinese Taipei in the playoffs on July 11th at 10:30 a.m.
The Canada Cup International Softball Championship takes place in Surrey every year, mainly at Softball City in South Surrey Athletic Park, but some games are played at other diamonds around the city.
The tournoment is designed to give young, high-calibre female athletes the “opportunity to expand their potential and ability by fielding elite-level fastpitch teams,” reads a post on canadacup.com.
